You may have shied away from Instagram Stories, Snapchat and Tik Tok videos. How about LinkedIn Stories? Last week, LinkedIn announced its new stories feature. This means it might be time to get in front of the camera, and bring a little glamour to the networking site.
Much like Instagram Stories, LinkedIn Stories are short video updates designed to last 24-hours. The ‘Stories’ will appear in tappable bubbles above a user’s LinkedIn feed. Viewers will be able to send direct messages, start-up a conversation, and share in-the-moment thoughts more readily than before.
How to use LinkedIn Stories…
As with any content strategy, it’s important to think about who your audience is. You should understand what they are interested in, and how you can add value.
Simple, digestible content with a clear objective will be key to making anything you upload a success. While it won’t need to be as well-polished as your corporate videos, it’s important to create something engaging. You should also remain professional to be in-keeping with the rest of your content on the platform. After all, this is your living business card, not your family photo album.
What types of content should you be sharing on LinkedIn Stories?
Plan your content around your organisation, industry and audience.
Share professional or business tips, brand announcements, product news, show the insides of how your company operates, comment on real-time events, exhibitions or run corporate Q& A sessions.
LinkedIn Stories is bound to give the platform a shake-up and move it forward. Are you ready to get creative and share your story?
