As we have already discussed in last weeks blog post there are a range of twitter metric products out there – both paid and for free. None of them are hosted within twitter they are all run by external companies – this is where Facebook differs!
Facebook is the world’s biggest social media site with over 800 million accounts across the world, so it is a great way to find and communicate to your customers. Facebook comes with its very own metrics for business pages, these are called Facebook Insites. Facebook Insites are available for free to anyone who is an admin on the business page. All the data can be exported into excel for number crunching or a brief snapshot is given within the Facebook page itself for quick access to the basic information.
Here just a brief list of some of information available on Facebook Insites to help your Social Media Marketing:
- Total Likes
- Gender of fans
- Ages of fans
- Country of fans
- Monthly total reach
- Daily reach
- Average link click throughs
- Negative feedback
- Monthly engaged users
- New daily likes
- New daily unlikes
- Website referal
You can use any date range you like to create reports – so here at Tann Westlake for example we run 3 monthly reports so you would chose date ranges 01/01/2012 – 31/03/2012 to cover January – March. You can of course just look at a specific week or month.
The Social Media Marketing data does involve some crunching and once exported it is up to your excel skills to make graph/ tables etc. out of the information given – but it is all there! Once you know what information is most useful to your company it will soon become easier to pull down the information you want. So unlike twitter there really is no need to visit anywhere else for social media marketing metrics on Facebook… or is there?!
Next week’s blog post will look into products and companies who offer a one stop shop for all your social media marketing metrics (Facebook, twitter, YouTube, Google+, Blogger, Pintrest etc) so you really do only have to visit one place!
Find out who came out on top next week! Or, contact us a line to find out how we can help you with your social media marketing.
