Technology giants, Apple have had another year full of innovation and new products. The biggest release being the Apple Watch. Although many may think it’s the first of it’s kind, it actually isn’t the first one to be made. With smartwatches dating back to 2001, with the more ‘basic’ version from IBM and Linux, the smartwatch featured a calendar-and-scheduling program, address book, notepad, expense keeper, and four games.
From then, tech companies started competing with each other, trying to create the best smartwatch with great features and design. More recently Pebble released their Time Steel watch, it’s features aren’t as high-tech as the Apple Watch, with no touch-screen and no connection to a smartphone. It’s seen as significantly lower in quality and design by buyers because it can’t compete with the features of the Apple Watch.
As well as the Apple watch release, there was also a buzz around the newly released iPhone 6S and 6S Plus. With distinct new features making this the best iPhone yet, made from 7000 series aluminium alloy, stronger than any material they’ve used for the iPhone before. Second-generation Touch ID makes for quicker recognition time and a 64-bit A9 processor making for faster speeds on tasks completed on the 6S and 6S Plus. Another amazing feature is the new camera, with a 12-megapixel back camera and a 5-megapixel front-facing camera.
The next release for the company is their iPad Pro, to be on sale as of November, the device itself boasts an array of new features. These include a larger retina display of 12.9”, as well as the most powerful chip yet, the company’s third-generation chip that is said to improve usability of the iPad compared to previous ones. It also has four new high-fidelity speakers built in to the system to ensure an amazing sound quality that is as big as the display.
After the iPad Pro is released there will be even more speculation on the next product they will be working on. Currently there are rumours around the idea of an Apple smart ring, they have patented a ‘ring computing device’. This will be a first in technological advances, the smart ring will supposedly have voice control, touchscreen, a computer processor, wireless transceiver and a rechargeable power source.
Apple know exactly what they’re doing when it comes to marketing their products and promoting their brand as something you want to be part of. Their core values are all based around user experience, making sure the product will benefit the user with everyday life, making it that much easier. By including this in all of their product designs, it makes consumers want to buy into that experience and be a part of the next generation of technology.
